WordPressHosting.nz is an independent information site about WordPress hosting, domain names and running a website in New Zealand. Our aim is simple: to help beginners and small-business owners understand how hosting works and what to check before they commit to a plan.
We are not a hosting company. We do not sell hosting plans, register domain names or manage customer accounts. We describe how things work, what the common terms mean and which questions are worth asking a provider.
What we do
On WordPressHosting.nz you will find plain-English guides to the main types of hosting (shared, VPS, managed and dedicated), overviews of providers that serve New Zealand customers, and practical walkthroughs covering setup, security, performance and troubleshooting. We also cover related topics such as .nz domain names, website builders and search visibility.
In everything we publish, we try to:
- Explain technical terms in everyday language, so that someone building their first website can follow along.
- Describe providers and products neutrally, without telling you what you “should” buy.
- Keep pages up to date and checked against reliable sources.
Our principles
All of our content rests on three principles: it should be fact-based, independent and easy to understand.
We check details against primary sources, such as a provider’s own documentation and published plan pages, WordPress.org, the Domain Name Commission and InternetNZ. If we cannot confirm something, we leave it out.
Hosting prices, plan limits and included features change often. We avoid presenting fast-moving figures as fixed, and we encourage you to confirm current details with the provider before you sign up.
How the site is funded does not decide what we write. Every provider is described using the same approach, and no provider can pay to change how it is presented.
The editorial team
The content on WordPressHosting.nz is written and reviewed by a small editorial team.
Nathan Pemberton is the site’s editor and writer. Nathan plans the topics we cover, writes and edits the guides, and is responsible for making sure that published pages are accurate, clearly written and reviewed when the facts change.
How we use AI
Some of our content is prepared with the help of AI tools, including Claude from Anthropic, which support research and drafting. Every page is reviewed, fact-checked and edited by our editorial team before it goes live, and responsibility for what we publish always sits with us.
You can read more about this process in our AI policy.
Contact
Have you spotted an error, an out-of-date detail or something that is unclear? We would like to hear about it. Feedback helps us keep the site accurate and useful, and we review every message we receive.
